Fort McMurray’s active total of COVID-19 cases is still rising.
The province announced on Sunday 1,437 new cases in the province over the past 24 hours.
There are currently 20,136 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 181,806 positive tests. There are also 594 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 140 of which are in ICUs.
Locally, Fort McMurray added 99 new cases and 47 recoveries in the past 24 hours which raises the active total to 1,081.
The rural areas added one new case, raising the total of active cases to 21.

A warning has been received in Cadillac from several cities regarding a group of three women who now are covering Michigan in the interest of âChild Conservationâ which is said to be nothing more than a cleverly covered book agent scheme. American actor, director, producer and screenwriter Tyler Perry was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Academy Awards today and he used the opportunity to urge people to refuse hate in a powerful speech.
In 2011, Forbes listed Perry as the highest-paid man in entertainment but his life hasn t always been that way.
As the Madea film-maker was honoured with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award he reflected on his own humble upbringing and days living out of a car, insisting he only wants to do his best to help others.
Foundation stone of South Punjab Secretariat being laid by PM Imran Khan today

Prime Minister Imran Khan is visiting Multan for a day today to announce important welfare and development projects.
The premier will also lay the foundation stone of the South Punjab Secretariat during his visit to Multan, confirmed Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Twitter.
In the tweet, Chaudhry said the premier will also announce Kisan Cards which will be a milestone for the farmers of Multan.
The South Punjab Secretariat was established in August, 2020. It was seen as a major government initiative to address the sense of deprivation among the people of southern Punjab.
